Introducing New Joiners to the Leadership Team - August '24

Earlier this year we took a significant step in bolstering our leadership ranks in Asia Pacific by appointing Pitipong Dejjarukul, a veteran with over two decades of experience in sustainable aquaculture practices when he was appointed to the Board of our Directors.

In his previous role as Vice President at Charoen Pokphand Foods, one of the world's largest producers of animal feed and shrimp, Dejjarukul spearheaded efforts to expand sustainable aquaculture across Thailand, Malaysia, India, China, Vietnam and the Philippines. He collaborated extensively with international sustainability organisations to develop and implement ethical, environmentally responsible business practices.

As a Thai national with deep connections across the region, he will provide crucial insights into regional opportunities and challenges. Now settled in, we hope that Dejjarukul will leverage his diverse experience at global seafood companies and with sustainability bodies to collaborate on initiatives focused on transparency, protecting human rights as well as minimising environmental impacts. These are pivotal for ensuring responsible, competitive seafood production long-term.

Dejjarukul's multidisciplinary background in both aquaculture operations and sustainable development uniquely positions him to advise us. His focus will include driving improvements in traceability, ethical recruitment, habitat protection and mitigating environmental impacts across complex Asian supply chains. Dejjarukul's appointment underscores our commitment to fostering a board with diverse perspectives and localised expertise.

Dejjarukul rounds out our existing pool of subject matter experts across human rights, environmental policy, supply chain logistics and corporate sustainability. This multifaceted brain trust enables us to comprehensively tackle systemic issues through a range of complementary lenses and skillsets. His strategic guidance will help operationalise our vision and replicate proven best practices from pioneering work in Thailand across new markets.
